by Faisal M. on If I could give this place 0-stars I would. Marina meets North beach as you would expect. Don't go here unless you are bridge/tunnel and have a mindless desire to get drunk to the shittiest music replayed over and over again so loud, you can't even hear yourself speak. The name seems inviting enough as an ultra-chic lounge scene designed for SF natives to enjoy local DJ's spinning chill-ass music over conversations about resonance and philosophy. Alas, NOT. Owners beware...you will close in a matter of 3 months. Unfortunately, anyone who really cares to know has already realized the ineptitude of your business model and yes, Elvis has left the building. Dim the lighting, place some lounge sofas and get rid of the exclusive VIP seating and you might challenge John Collins for an interesting alternative in SOMA. Obviously, the owners at Sloane didn't do their homework and with the economy the way it is, I'm sorry to say, they may not survive by year's end. Almost forgot, any bar that places a bouncer in front of red velvet ropes when they have no cred in the business, should suffer the SF rath of attritional hegemony. The bouncer was a nice guy though who let us in even though we weren't "on the list" to an empty bar...that's the only thing that deserves the one-star.
by Erin L. on i like this place. bucket of corona. garlic fries. corn bread calamari. sun. good crowd. hard to find a table though, quite crowded on a saturday afternoon.
