The only thing that is keeping the rating to Colony this high are the promoters giving it 5 stars. If you would have asked me a few months ago what I thought of this place I would have given it 4 stars, but hindsight, I was severely jaded because of the crowd I was going with. The number one downside (aside from the creepy foreign men who grope, grab and prod at every woman who walks past them) is the absolutely horrible door staff. I understand being strict and not allowing "rif raf" in, however there is no excuse to be rude and degrading to anyone. ANYONE. I was utterly appalled at the way they not only treated myself when I arrived one fateful evening alone meeting up with friends (petite woman, wouldn't harm a fly) but also other patrons. Speaking to people as if they were the "hand of g-d" and completely ignoring others. Considering I've been to Colony before, and have never been hassled before, I was not only shocked, but completely upset that grown "men" would resort to name calling and bullying simply to make themselves feel/look "cool." When you are the face of an establishment you should be putting your best foot forward and the men working the door (as you can tell by other rateclubsers) are driving business away. Sam Nazarrian needs to reevaluate who he hires before they end up another has been club in LA. And to all of my fellow rateclubsers, try out Eden, MyStudio or Supperclub. They're more fun, the crowd is substantially better, and the guys working the door do their job, and aren't as power hungry!

I went to go see my friends band play here. when I first walked in I wasn't sure what I was looking at, and the place seemed like it might of been real small. I was wrong, there is so much space as you follow this hallway to the stage area that opens up into a decent sized room in the back. I wasn't squished or pushed the entire night. The crowd was a good size and I was able to get close to the stage and understand lyrics. There's a bar in the front as well as an area to sit away from the noise, and one bar in the back past the stage area. The place is set up well, with little cubby holes in the front and upstairs to escape to if you just want to get away from he concert crowd or standing. I'll go back the only issue was waiting in line for the bathroom, I didn't realize there was two, so ladies just know there's one in the front and back, and the one in the back you could take 3 to 4 of your friends in with you if you don't mind the company to get everyone in and out faster. You know you do it!
