I can't really speak to the weekly events that the Mayan has, and with the exception of Lucha (see my review if you know what's good for you), I've only been a handful of times over the past 15 years, but the theater itself is exquisite. I highly recommend checking it out, if only to see what architecture should be, and what sadly, with the advent of mini-malls and 'lofts' that aren't really lofts, it's no longer.

I gave Fado Irish Pub a second chance and I'm happy I did. Fado's is a pretty nice place and would probably be good for a date (if you go upstairs) or a night out with friends. If you are heading to Fado's I suggest going to the roof top. The ground floor is very noisy and crowded (which could be good or bad), but the rooftop, in my opinion, has more character. It also has a bar area that is enclosed and would be great for a group of friends. The outside area has an area with a fireplace so it's a good place when its cold outside too. It was also a little quieter if that's what you are looking for. The food was good too. My wife said what she ordered was one of the best things she had ever ordered from a restaurant. The "blackened chicken and shrimp boxty" It was like shrimp and chicken with some type of sauce wrapped in a potato crepe. I suggest asking about that item, it was good. The drinks aren't a terrible price either (my beer was $4.50, but they have pitchers too). I'm sure you could run a tab up pretty quick, but for the location and environment I think its okay. Also parking cost $5 in the lot or there are a few parking meter spots that cost $2 and hour. The dress seems to range from business casual to completely casual. They don't seem to mind either way. The crowd seems to be mostly professionals (or at least working aged, college graduates). It's definitely not a local dive bar, although I did see a lot of guys with friends having plenty of drinks, just wearing slacks instead of jeans and flip flops... Overall, if you are looking for a slightly nicer place to hang out and grab some food and a couple drinks I'd give this place a try.
