by German Juris on You know what...for a 25-year old i've done a fair amount of Las Vegas & Hollywood clubbing...and I over the past year or so I ALWAYS heard people ranting and raving over this "Playhouse"...so I was naturally EXCITED to finally check this place out. And honestly, it did NOT live up to my expectations. First off, we had no hook-ups for the night (a regular Saturday night) so we got there suuuuper early at like 9:45 to be able to get in. We were the FIRST people in the "Regulars" line and they still didn't let us in until 11:15, and it was freezing outside so it was completely miserable, but hey, if you're a group of 4 dudes in H-wood with no hook-ups that night you can expect the politics. So we finally get in, and it was DEAD inside...I wanted to scream at someone for making me suffer in the cold for over an hour (and i was sick) when it was DEAD inside. Anyways...the entrance level was house music and it was okay i guess, after about 30 minutes we tried going upstairs and realize is was Hip-Hop up there...niiiiice! But, the thing that really threw me off was that it felt like EVERY girl was there with her boyfriend. Like once you made a little eye contact and started groovin' close by a chick some Armanian dude would swoop in and give her a kiss just to let you know...like "wtf yo?"...didn't you ever hear about not bringing sand to the beach? And we left at about 1 or 1:30, before it closed, cause overall the crowd was just not the business, honestly the upstaris was the only thing that kept this from being a 1-star review. But I will certainly give this place one more try in the near future cause every place deserves a second chance.
by Josh T. on Last night a group of friends and I celebrated my girlfriend's birthday at Aja. It was amazing. The inside of the restaurant is fancifully decorated with fantastic Asian decor including a extravagant Buddha statue in the dining area. The service, or our waiter, was very good. He was always there, willing to answer questions, and very nice. The overall experience is one that I am fully satisfied with. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant
