DO NOT GO HERE FOR VIP. Whenever we roll to a club maybe once every month or two, my friends and I typically get a bottle and table service so we don't have to bump around and wait in line at the bar. Here's what happened when we tried to go to Estate on Friday night 1) Reserved a VIP table and a $600 bottle of goose about 5 days in advance through a girl named Liz. (And referenced her another table of 12 girls for that same night.) 2) Arrived at 11:30, checked in with some clown named Andrew as instructed. 3) Told to wait in the VIP "line" (whatever that means.) Granted there was a much longer line, but honestly... ok- so maybe they have to get the table ready 4) Wait in VIP line for literally 25 minutes while the bouncers let in easily 50+ friends and other randos 5) Get carded and inside at 11:59. The woman at the cover charge desk says its past 12 and we have to pay a $25/per person cover charge on top of the table and bottle service. I politely tell her we waited in line for over 20 minutes and show her my watch that its 12:00 on the dot, but the cashier wont budge 6) Talk to the manager, but he doesn't have any control on what's going on so we all walked out... waste of well planned night. Been here before for VIP and the experience is extremely sub par. The site makes it look like its high class, but its a straight facade. The scene is grimy with a bunch of 20 year olds. I would highly recommend checking out other venues for legit VIP service- Rumor, Gypsy, Underbar, Revolution Rock Bar...

It's ok if I wasn't able to give Morimoto a big hug after my dinner but everytime I come to Philly for an event, I need to have dinner at Morimotos. It's a little creepy where it's located, especially at night when it's just you and a co-worker getting dropped off by a cab. Inside is totally different from the outside, it removes itself from Philly and brings you to an eclectic, euro/vegas feeling. With the lighted bench walls that change color to the long narrow tunnel vision like dining area, it ironically gives a calming setting. We started off with fresh oysters flown from Japan and the salmon sashimi. The oysters were great to try and the sashimi was so fresh and it did the melt in my mouth reaction. Drinks were very fun and different! the Blueberry Shiso-Jito and the Lychee Cosmo! I had about 3 or 4 of those. Our server was polite, friendly and informative with the menu and definitely gave great selections. We had our basic california rolls, but added a special unagi roll, spicy tuna roll, asparagus maki, and the shrimp tempura roll. Great presentation and so delicious, rolls did not fall apart and the rice was so fresh! Rolls are about 9-12 bones and the sashimi was priced per piece at $4. Yes it is expensive but the quality, service, atmosphere, drinks and food go beyond priceless. If we were able to win a first time sushi eater, I am completely satisfied! This is a great place for a nice client meeting, birthday or popping the question to your girl since that happened right next to us! I heart you Morimoto's!

Last night I sat in here: http://imgs.sfgate.com... ...and drank this: http://farm3.static.fl... ...and ate a homemade version of this: http://autumnleavespho... ...while watching this: http://uk.youtube.com/...\ To paraphrase an old homey from N.W.A. ( http://www.tomsheehan....), it was indeed a good night. Addendum: This review was for the club only!
