by Brendan Martines on I went down to STK last night, for Valentines Day. Our reservation was for 10:30p.m. So we sat at the bar while we waited for our table.I had the strawberry rubhard cobbler martini. The 1st one i had was really strong almost barely undrinkable. the 2nd one was delicous! We had gotten there a little bit early just in case. I was surprised that they came to sit us around 10:20p.m. The table we got sat at were reall tight . I felt i was rubbing all of my goods on the table next to us. For apps we had the "lil burgers" the burger itself was good but to much truffle for me. It was a little over powering actually, I left it . For my entree i got the skirt steak , and the corn pudding . This was the best part of the night . The steak was so tender and properly seasoned, the corn pudding was amazing . The worst part was the dessert . Yes sad to say. I had the cheesecake lollipops. Omg they were hard as a rock, and the compote that came with the pina colada pop i cant even describe what it tasted like ..yuck! All in all if you want good steak yes go ! But please stop there .....
by Andrew A. on Wednesday Night at Drais Finding a place to let loose and enjoy yourself on a weeknight can be a burden; especially if you're from out of town. Fortunately, Drais over at the W in Hollywood is your best bet for finding a lively weekend event on a generally quiet Wednesday night. When you arrive at the venue, you may have to wait in a long line unless you've made reservations with a promoter or directly with the venue management. The venue requires the patrons to dress for an upscale event and enforces this rule regularly. This means that you shouldn't be surprised if your dungarees prevent you from joining the party! Additionally, the gentlemen have to bring at least one girl for every person in the party unless you purchase bottle service. After passing the entrance, you will be lead to an elevator which brings you directly to the dance floor. This rooftop venue is elegantly decorated with an occasional themed event, fashioning hired dancers on the stage. Adjacent to the dance floor is a view of Los Angeles and poolside seating. If you're familiar with nightlife in Hollywood, you'll notice a range of personalities and styles that are common in the area. The crowd on a Wednesday night is generally filled with 21 to 30-something-year-olds where the DJs tend to play your typical pop hits. This wouldn't be a premiere Hollywood club if an occasional celebrity didn't stop by. Don't be surprised if you see a recognizable face. This is a very popular party spot. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side so if you plan on drinking; make sure you have your wallets filled. Overall, this is the only place to party if you're looking for a lively venue on a Wednesday night.
