Great little place, bartenders all rocked- though we do tip, people forget how to do that nowadays... Anyway dj was fun, drinks were made right, and I'll definitely go back...

My husband surprised me with a date night last night and he had been keeping this little gem in his back pocket for quite some time. From the moment we stepped into East Side Showroom we were greeted by a friendly hostess who said our wait would be about 40 minutes. We were fine by that and proceeded to the bar and met with a knowledgeable and fun bartender. He made us a couple of their signature cocktails, but asked us what types of drinks we typically drink, so that he could get a sense for what we would like. We both were more than pleased with our drinks and took in the eclectic old-world atmosphere while we waited. I absolutely loved the cabaret style and felt as though we were transported back in time. After our wait, we were given an option of which table we would prefer (something that never seems to happen) and so we chose the dining area as opposed to the tables near the front entrance. We were quickly greeted by our waiter and asked for recommendations on appetizers and he recommended the Venison, fried okra, with potato. It was amazingly delicious and could be ordered as an entree, which I think I may do next time I return. My husband ordered the beef rib-eye and I ordered the ravioli. Both were equally delicious and the only downside was that we had to leave before the music started up. I cannot wait to return and will be telling all of my family and friends about this place. I love that it was created by a mother/daughter team and that they kept the building in its original form with exposed brick. They have an amazing eye for detail and decor. Would highly recommend to anyone, but if you don't have a sense of imagination or an appreciation for anything non-chain-like, then this isn't the place for you. One complaint is that the air conditioner wasn't working too well and the smoke from the kitchen was billowing into the dining area. Other than that, it was a great experience!

this is older people dancing to disco wedding music with $12 cocktails. if you're as lucky as i am, you'll get to see an over-the-hill german lady puke a few times and shower in the only sink while she tells you about the long distance boyfriend she has waiting for her on the dance floor. we mainly came up for the view and even that sucked. the windows looked like they had never been washed. watching 40-somethings grind and make out might be what you're into, but we took a pass. unfortunately it was after we'd already paid the $5 cover. lame.
