This review is based on having dinner here. I went here with a friend and we sat outside to enjoy the nice afternoon weather. She is a vegetarian and was able to enjoy a great salad while I had a tuna burger. I was a little hesitant to order tuna here because I'm picky with it comes to tuna being over cooked. However, it was AMAZING. The burger was cooked perfectly with the right condiments and the fries were great. We were in awe of everyones food that was being served. Everything looked amazing. The service was excellent and our waiter was attentive and checked on us at the right times. We hung around enjoying a few pints and they did bug us about hanging out which was nice. I will definitely be back to try brunch/drinks at the beer garden next time!

The last time I was at One Midtown Kitchen was the last time. It was in 11/2006. Let me get started. It was around 8:30p.m. The complimentary bread and with hummus was okay. There was nothing special to it. The Caesar salad was horrible! The romaine lettuce was sliced vertically and it was brown all over the edges. So, it definitely was sliced and thrown into the refrigerator for at least a full day before landing on the plate. The dressing was sour. The WORST Caesar salad ever. And the Columbia river wild cotto salmon with saffron risotto, french horn mushrooms and red pepper puree was pretty good. I was real disappointed with my salad. How could a chef have the audacity to serve old lettuce to customers?

I love this place. It's a great venue to see a show because they have smaller acts and you can get up in front right near the stage. You can also sit at a table in the dining/drinking area- though I've never done it. I dig the old school swank of the lobby and bar, and the bartenders even wear uniforms. The one thing that kinda freaked me out was the restroom attendant- I didn't expect someone to hand me a towel at a indy funk/soul show, but it was a touch of class I thought I deserved right after relieving myself. Why not? They seem to book good bands, as well. So far, I've seen Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, O-Maya, and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings there and all the shows have been fucking great: high energy, cool crowd dynamic. Plus, the tickets are a good twenty dollars cheaper than going to a bigger venue where you probably won't even get close to the band or dance...and you can be sure there won't be waiters and bartenders in uniforms, bathroom attendants, or chandeliers and red velvet upholstery.
