I actually wish I could just tell you in person how much I hated this place, because I could go on for a long, long, long time. FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm not someone who does expensive things like this often, but with a groupon and putting this in my budget ahead of time, I was excited to have an evening out that was a little fancier than usual. POSITIVES: The beds that we sat on were comfy and kind of cool. Also, the cocktail that I had was good (for $11, I expect that I guess). NEGATIVES: Everything else. Actually. - We were seated upstairs, so our view of the show was obstructed. - Which ACTUALLY isn't that bad of a thing, because the show was a subpar burlesque show without any of the edge. Like, it seemed like the place was trying REALLY hard to be unique and interesting and edgy and risque, but 75 year-old drag queens lip synching to Celine Dion in a dive bar would be way edgier and interesting than this show. It was actually just kind of pathetic. The girls were wearing oddly skimpy costumes and dancing pretty poorly to slow house music, and a couple of people twirled around on ropes. The show itself really was just girls not wearing much clothing, writhing around in the air. -We were the last ones to be served in the upstairs seats that we had, and it took us an hour and a half before we got our first course. I'm not a huge eater, but I left the restaurant at the end of the night not quite satisfied in terms of how much food I got. -And the food wasn't very good. I mean, it was fine, but not $$$$ fine. The first two courses seemed pretty standard. The third course that I had (something vegetarian) was poorly done and tasted way too fried, plus they didn't tell me what I was eating, and I couldn't tell because it was dark. And the dessert was an overly crunchy apple pie thing with some vanilla ice cream on top. Not impressive. -The price tag is extreme for what's offered. After the meal, we received an $80 check for included gratuity, tax, SF health fee, and two drinks. So, for a $70 groupon, it ended up costing us $150, and that's significantly less than what you would pay without the deal. I actually could go on and on and on about how and why I would never go back or allow my friends to go, but I think I've said enough. It might be fine for just drinks or as a club, but as a dinner, I would stay far far away.
