by Breana Stojanovic on Funky Saturday weather made me not want to do anything, but as my drinking binge has come to an end, I figured..why the hell not go out one last time. A group of friends and I came to Sugar Cafe around 11...1130..parking sucks but I got lucky and got a spot across the street. It was pretty packed inside, nowhere to sit for a while, but then a large group left and the 7 of us grabbed a table adjacent to the bar. The bartenders aren't that tentative, unless you've got boobs, so it took a while to get our first round of AMFs. "AMF's are the new drink of the group!" Round 2 of AMFs..then round 3 and 4 of beers. Lots of laughs, lots of memories. The big security guy let us chill til we finished our last round of beers, he came and pounded back his drink with us! Maybe he was the owner, but whoever he was, he was chill and didn't take our drinks away. Great place to bring a date or to go with a group of friends...its a swanky lounge, mixed crowd, but its a little too loud if you're looking to have an intimate conversation.
by Emily G. on I know that Mother's Cafe claims their Bueno Burger is the best veggie burger in town, but they are incorrect. Don't get me wrong, they are delicious, but Player's wins. Never have I tasted a moister burger not made of meat. Around $4, the veggie burgers here won't break your bank and will make your heart (and the animals) happy. Players also features cheap and delicious yet artery-clogging fries, onion rings, and shakes. I don't usually drink soft drinks, but every time I go to Player's I get one - they have the sweetest Coca Cola and I can't resist it. Ask for the crushed ice and you just might drink the best soda of your life. Inside Player's there is a humungous television usually broadcasting sports, and feels somewhat like a sports bar. However, if you're not in the mood for beer and a ball game, they have a drive-thru that's usually pretty speedy. Great prices, great food, great location if you live near campus!
