I went to Continental with a group where we had a variety of food pre-ordered. Despite the mass-production style, the food was prepared well and the our server was attentive. Appetizers/salads: by far my favorite part of the meal. Get the barbeque chicken quesadilla - so good! The edamame also had a good consistency and delicious sea salt. The Continental salad was well balanced with the right amount of dressing and had complementary feta and mild red onions. The hummus and pita was fine, and I would skip the spinach ravioli next time. Entrees: the steak with chimichurri was tasty, but I would skip the tuna salad/tomato dish next time. We also got the turkey clubs, which didn't excite me enough to even try. Desserts: we got a sampler of desserts, and sample I did! The best by far was the carrot cake (moist with delicious cream cheese icing), with the blond bombshell and fried-banana triangles also being tasty. The chocolate peanut butter cup and mascarpone cheesecake were forgettable. I strongly disliked the truffles, which had too much crisped rice on the outside and overly strong berry sauce. I liked the interior design style, especially some of the lighting. Notice the one-way mirrors when you head towards the bathroom...whatever primping you're doing can be seen by anyone walking down the stairs. And don't bump into the draped white tables on the second floor - they are hard plastic and not fabric, as my shins could tell you.

Went for lunch....didn't know it happened opened yet. It's in the same shopping center as Alamo Drafthouse where Flores Mexican food use to be. Very nice addition to the Andersen Lane area restaurants, but with a higher end flair. I would call this a high end sports bar (without the pitcher swilling smoking part) with a pretty darn good menu and decent liqour and wine selection. Loved the atmosphere in there. Cozy and contemporary decor. I got kind of a light lunch (eating at Foga da cHao tonight, had to prepare) of the soup and salad and both were phenomenal. Soup was their house onion (very simliar to French Onion) with great flavor and the salad was my favoritce WEDGE with blue cheese. Seems like a really nice place with an upstairs lounge with lots of big screens to watch local UT sports. Definitely going back....gotta try some of the GREEN CHILE oriented stuff on the menu. A good, not your typical far menu too. Good luck and share your experiences.

It's true that this is one of the best places to see bands in San Francisco. There's very little I can add to all of the raves giving you the good news...it's just a great venue. So here are the caveats. 1. Bathrooms are pretty small. There's only a single-occupancy for each sex downstairs, and 2 urinals-and-a-stall upstairs (for obvious reasons I can only report on the men's room), so you do get lines from time to time. The good news is that you can hear the show from outside either one, so it's not so bad to wait. 2. Parking is tough. If you're from outside the city like me and you don't know all the parking secrets that residents are forced to learn, this is a challenge. There's an attended garage a block down and over I usually use, which adds 10 bucks to the price of the ticket. I guess there are spots on Van Ness but I guess I'm never there early enough. Once I parked down O'Farrell St. from the venue, which was convenient. It's the Tenderloin, so you'll get panhandled on the way to and from.
