This is for the restaurant only. There was no dance club last night. After a somewhat disastrous experience with a large group at Bissap Baobab a few years ago for my going away party, I was pretty hesitant to try Little Baobab, particularly on Valentine's Day. We made reservations and got there early. We were seated right away but there appeared to be only one waiter for the whole place (its small). I noticed that there were three other tables around us of anxious-looking people waiting for their orders to be taken too. Uh-oh. After about 20 minutes the lone waiter came over and apologized for the delay. He was so sweet, we instantly forgave him and he took our order. We ordered all of our drinks, and appetizer and our meals all at once just in case he never came back. The drinks came and they were delicious! I had a tamarind margarita and J had a hibiscus one. They were both super-yummy and only five bucks! We also had two Red Stripes. (Save it!) The food did take a while to come out and they brought our entrees before the app (which they took off the bill, but gave us anyway) and I have got to say, it was SO GOOD! I had the Mafe Tofu which consisted of baked tofu with a delicious peanutty curry sauce over the top and rice. Jeff had some sort of coconut shrimp dish that he said was awesome too. The portions were perfect! I was so relieved a giant plate of food fit for two or more people wasn't plopped down in front of me! Great! When the waiter dropped off our bill he was again very apologetic and super-endearing. So nice! With the two cocktails, two beers and two entrees, our bill was $40!!! AWESOME!! I will definitely be back soon, and most likely will stay for the dance club after dinner to work off that sure to be yummy meal! :)

So the first time I went here it was late-ish, like 2am, got inside and thought it was pretty dead. My friend and I sat at the bar and looked at a really long list of frozen and non-frozen drinks...then I noticed the steady stream of people coming in and going downstairs, so of course my curiosity got the best of me, and I followed. It was like a whole 'nother world down there lol. Loud hip-hop music, dark room, another bar. It was great. I liked the fact that upstairs felt like more of a bar/lounge and downstairs was more of a club scene. Of course, you have your creepy guys that grab your hand or shirt or whatever they can get their hands on as you walk by (eww) but other than that its ok. Music was definitely stuff to easily dance to, with or without the required rhythm lol. Drinks are slightly expensive I guess, (like $12, I think) but for the area I suppose this is expected...definitely one of my fav spots!
