Stay away, people! Whether you are from Philly or not, know this: Giving Joey Vento (owner of Geno's) your money is a vote for his hateful, small-minded, obnoxious politics, which permeate the signage and attitude of the place. Hey I love me a good steak, believe you me, and I have certainly *had* Geno's before (live in Philly long enough and it's an eventuality) but if you're gonna do the long-line-in-the-street-waiting-for-a-genuine cheese steak thing, there is the humble and venerable Pat's directly across the street: just as good but without the side helping of bigotry.

Kress is a typical Hollywood hot spot. The food was average and the DJ sucked! He played J Timberlake 5 times within the hour. Don't get me wrong, I love J Timberlake but, that is a "no, no" in the world of Djing. The dining experience was great since I was amongst a fun crowd. We ordered one large Nigori Sake and finished it within 1/2 an hour. The waiter asked if we would like another bottle but never disclosed the cost. At the end of the night, we spent $140.00 on two bottles of sake. The food: As I mentioned, it was very average. The descriptions on the menu aren't accurate. For instance, under "salad" there is a dish in which patrons think it is a salad but, it is a noddle dish. The decor is very stylish. It is just how I imagined it, simple and sophisticated.

Slide burns! I have Slide burns on my right arm! For some reason when I went to Slide, the gate keepers would not let me go down the slide when I was sober, but thought it would be better when I was intoxicated. Again, I must reiterate....I have slide burns! I really have to say I was kind of disappointed with Slide. But really I might have set myself up for it by building it up in my head. The crowd can really make or break how I feel about Slide on a particular night...too bad there is no way to send out scouts to let you know how it will be before you head out there. Bartenders only fill martini glasses 3/4 full. I prefer my cocktails to be ebbing and flowing 1/4'' from the rim, especially when I'm paying top dollar It is an interesting place to have in SF and I'm glad it is here. However new sliders beware...you may get burned... Who cares if you are wearing a skirt or not? What about protective arm-wear?
