This is the only spot in SF that is truly free salsa dancing. The venue itself is good size venue with dancing in the back room and lounge/bar in the main area. Drink specials + no cover + free lessons = you can't beat that. For those that can't stay out late night and are looking for a great alternative to the late night clubs in SF - this is your place. by Margarita Bodenheimer on being a dyke is so cool, or so trendy if you will, that even paris hilton parties with us. uh, yeah... really. she was at booby trap last night, and took part in a completely hilarious conversation... my adorable t-boi date, to paris' friend on the smoking patio: "excuse me, do you happen to have an american spirit by chance?" paris' friend: "no, i don't have sprint." my date: confused look paris: "uh, she was asking for, like, an american spirit." paris' friend: "yeah, i don't have sprint. i have at&t." paris does not hang out with smart people, but that was less than shocking. (why she was at a gay girl night, not a clue.) booby trap had a good mix of lesbian types- it wasn't as hipster as shotgun at the eagle (which apparently ended recently) or as fake-tittied as truckstop at here. it wasn't the greatest thing ever, but for a wednesday night, it was a nice option, and i will likely go again.
