by Larissa W. on Woot for getting cut ahead of everyone in the g/l line. Woot, woot for getting free VIP wristbands and getting free drinks allllllll night!!! I LOVE being a girl!!! :))) About the place: No idea how much cover costs but coat check is just $3. Thursday was great. Two rooms...the front one is pretty small though and it's REALLY annoying trying to squeeze through tons of people after you leave the bar holding a MARTINI in hand. You bet that shit spilled all over a couple of people! Haha if I wasn't laughing and super drunk, I'm sure I would've gotten into a fight in response to some nasty looks I got! :) Back room is nice too, but I didn't spend too much time there...we were too busy crashing a Bachelor party. Great night. Will come back for sure. I apologize in advance if I spill my drink on you the next time I'm there...just don't push against me and we're ok! :)
by Chase Zeyadeh on Starck, you have completely disappointed me. I don't understand how an amazing designer can add "restaurant" to his resume. Do you really think Starck has anything to do with the menu? I hope not! With that, here is a piece of my stomach. I am a big fan of "tapas" since I am a small eater and love variety. There were 3 other people who dined with me. We decided to feast on the "chef's selection" which was $55.00 per person. not bad for 8 different items. Since I am unable to eat shellfish, I had the vegetarian menu. OMG! They served me bite sized potatoes. I hate potatoes! The dessert was nothing to talk about. We ordered shots of silver patron...a spankin $65.00 for 4 shots! I gave XIV 3 stars because I am a huge fan of Starck. He or his team of designers put a lot of thought into the decor. The doors leading into the restaurant are pretty sleek. There is a huge hedge outside with the XIV logo. All of the glassware are mismatched which, I LOVE! If you feel you want to try this place out, I encourage you to. But, just know that you will spend over $350.00 for four people.
by Courtney E. on Once in the venue, there's really no bad seat in the house. The acoustics are great and you really feel a close connection with the comedians onstage. I laughed my ass off, and I didn't even know who the comedians were! Aside from the fact they were alumni from my alma mater with Jason Alexander as our host. It was a great night of revelry. Words of advice: Don't eat dinner there, eat elsewhere (overpriced and generally mediocre), and get there early enough to guarantee a good (read: safe) place to park. You wouldn't want to stray too far in this neck of the woods...
