by El C. on Was craving Ethiopian food last night so came here. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how DARK it is inside. This part made me a little uneasy, but decided to try it anyways. We both ordered the vegetarian combo, which is only $6 during happy hour and is all-you-can-eat (however, one portion will fill you up!). Since it was happy hour, we also got some super cheap drinks. Overall, the food was pretty good. Service was quiet, but didn't make us wait. The atmosphere was a little dark for my taste -- I like to see what I'm eating.
by Jessie Basom on Little Baobab is an awesome little hole in the wall club that plays "world music"- reggaeton, salsa, afrobeats, & other good shit. The cover is cheap- only $5, which you cant beat with a bat. The place gets so crowded that you end up dancing with strangers on accident, but I think that's part of this place's allure. I came here a few saturday nights ago with my sister & her entourage to meet my girls from college. Despite the spot not being very big at all, I kept losing my peoples because of the place being so dark and crowded. My only complaint is the same complaint I have with all san francisco locations: lack of parking. I think we ended up parking somewhere on valencia six blocks away. My college friend warned me, "you have to wear comfortable shoes because you are going to be taking a jesus walk & you only come to baobab to dance. There's no room to stand." Great advice that I recommend the ladies to follow- do not wear heels the night you decide to go to baobab!
