We had heard the rumors and read the reviews so were expecting a degree of stuffiness but hey a place to drink that's only a stumble from home we had to check it out! Anyways, once we were seated and started looking around we realized quickly that we were probably 3 of maybe 8 folks in the entire bar! The other folks appeared to be having a post first e harmony date cocktail (wierd) or were all eligible for retirement benefits (we were by far the youngest folks in the spot, which isn't a bad thing but I don't want to go to a bar and get hit on by someone my grandfathers age:) The drinks were good but waaaay overpriced. Not sure I'd go back or recommend.
by Cristen Thorne on Please read this review. I went to Icon on a Friday night. Their webpage is extremely misleading. The place consists of only two rooms, and it is a very cramped space. As all the other reviews have stated, there is nothing iconic, or ultra about this lounge. ALSO, there was an altercation at the lounge last night. Ultimately what happened is that one of the bouncers that works there was grabbing my girls arm. I told him to get off of her, and he started pushing me. Next thing I know, he has pushed me all the way outside, and he starts to put me in a REAR NAKED CHOKEHOLD, and I am on the verge of blacking out. As a result, I've got bruises on my neck and I have trouble swallowing. Believe me, this was totally uncalled for, and the club is lucky I didn't call the police. If you think this won't happen to you, then you better think again, because that bouncer guy is absolutely crazy, and will do the unexpected. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Depending on your personality, you could choose the main dance floor (loud, fun, a little cruisy), the mezzanine (hip-hip/r&b music), or the more relaxed pink lounge in the basement. There is pretty much something for everyone. Some people are put off by the darkness - it's a nightclub! You can also avoid the hassle of finding members to buy your alcohol for you by buying yourself a membership - it is good for a year. You can buy drinks, and you also get cheaper cover charge!
