a venue that would look cheesy if the lights were on. plus this place has ridiculous amount of stairs that lead to false promises. exuberant prices for a c-lister crowd.

Shampoo was amazing when I first started going here. But then again it was the only place that let me dance to Industrial and 80's music when I was seventeen. but after 11 years (holy crap it really has been that long hasn't it!) I can't help but feel like Matthew McConaughey's semi creepy character from Dazed & Confused every time I come here. "I get older, they stay the same age." Aside from the DJ's playing newer music, nothing really has changed about Shampoo over the years. And while I haven't been to any of the night's other then Nocturne (aside from when friends and I needed to take advantage of the free parking in a tight spot) I'm willing to bet that it's been that way for every single club night that it offers. Nocturne, it's 80's industrial night can still be worth it every once in a blue moon, especially when it gets warmer and they open up the huge indoor/outdoor dance floor. But then again aside from killer monthly event's like Sex Dwarf and what DJ Deejay does, and Sal's hit or miss Saturday 80's night, There really isn't too much out here that offers a consistent blend of 80's music. and the Industrial/EDM nights are practically non-existent in Philly. So while it could be lot better, and the underage crowd can be a nuisance upstairs. and while Laurel is very right about the bathroom, I'll probably still find myself here every extremely rare once in awhile occasion. especially on nights like this Saturday where they manage to bring in a good band and a belly dancing room (which might turn out to be a joke).

Best venue to see a live show at in sf.. there is just something about this place. its got a touch of class and style that sets it a part.
