Ok I don't know if its just me? but why is it that every new club opens in LA they make such a big deal out of it. I went there with friends last saturday and felt like I was in a show room. People are so hollywood and trying too hard. The place is not that wow that they make it seem like. LA needs some nice Las Vegas style clubs. Like Tao and Lava. You feel like you are in a fantasy room. DJ sucked, staff was rude and not cool. Whatever! its nothing big.

I've been to this place 2x - 1st time was a Friday night, 2nd time was a Thrs night . I didn't write my review after the 1st time since I only stepped in there for 1/2 hour and headed over to CosmoLava. 2nd time I visited was for a http://metromix.comlaunch party. Atmosphere: Both times were pretty chill. Not overly crowded. Music was more of rock/alternative type. 2 floors and patio. Basement level is tiny - mostly taken up by a VIP area. Nobody was really dancing but maybe it was too early at 11pm-12am-ish People: diverse, gay/straight, little of all races. Service: nothing to complain about the 1st time BUT the 2nd time was HORRIBLE. I wasn't being rude or anything - I just asked what "type of flavored vodka's do you have?" Bartender guy with lots of tatoos rolls his eyes and points to the shelf, which of course is too far away to read anything and it's dark.... He didn't even help me when he saw I obviously was struggling to see what he was pointing towards....didn't make sense to me, so I just gave up trying to figure out what I really wanted since obviously I wasn't going to be receiving any help from him at all. I just ordered a rum and diet coke. Drinks were free that night so maybe that's why he had such a bad attitude? Not sure. Summary: I'm more of a CosmoLava person and I like to go to clubs to dance so take that into consideration when reading this review. You may like Door 44, but it just wasn't to my liking. I won't come here again unless my friends want to go.

San Jose didn't have enough ultra lounges. Fremont and Fresno should enjoy it here. The food is unimaginative, overcooked, and overpriced. The great service from both the waiters and the bartenders doesn't outweigh the pricey drinks. I should mention it's very difficult to get a drink on a busy night if you do not know the bartenders. Two cocktails with tip runs at a median of twenty bucks. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is a dress code and $10 cover after or around 10:30 pm. The DJ plays top forty hits from 2006 and the hits that all the people sing along to at the Holy Cow. The place is suitable for a few drinks if it's not crowded. There's an excellent view of the city from an outdoor patio on the roof. I would suggest having your drinks upstairs if weather permits. There is also a tent and several heat lamps spaced moderately around the eating area. They do not accept cards at the roof bar. Avoid the bathrooms. They're in terrible shape for a place that serves food. Save it. Go to Bruno's or Laszlo next door.
