by Alex C. on Before the crime scene, Duvet used to be a hot club, and now it's shamelessly garbage. The crowd there isn't what most people on rateclubs are looking for. If you like getting searched for weapons before you enter then by all means go there. The only thing redeemable about Duvet, is the layout, they have awesome beds, and the bar is nicely setup. Cover averages about 20 dollars, guys can negotiate easily because of how poor the crowd has become.
by ericalynn g. on I've dined in the Temple a bunch of times since moving to Washington Square last month and every time, my food has been delicious and my drinks have been a-flowing. Waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Everything has been fabulous and then some. So it disturbs me greatly that even after such great experiences every single time, I still have to wonder if this place is for real. I'm not sure why I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, or to find out that it's all been a dream. Maybe it's because the Golden Temple is sort of like the Disney movie version of a Chinese restaurant: over the top, bright and overly perky, bigger than it needs to be, and likely enjoyed a lot better with a hit of acid.
by Elvina Scotto on Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! From the pictures, this looks like a pretty nice venue but don't let it fool you. I have been here twice and one is just as bad as the other. This place is a total dump. The drinks are weak. The music is horrible. The DJs are still living in the late 90s! And you will not find more desperate guys than you would here. Guest list closes at 11. My friends and I got there at 11:02 one night a couple of weekends ago. They did not hesitate to charge us cover b/c we were 2 minutes late.
