by MJ S. on So we were feeling nostalgic and itching to dance to some 90s music and, well, what do you know... 111 Minna was hosting a "Class of 1994" event on the Saturday that we were planning to go out in SF. Talk about taking it back to the old school! "Back in the day when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some day I sit and wish I was a kid again..." (Or something like that) It had a cool little photo area where you and your posse could vogue it out--all pics would be showing on a screen the whole night. Kinda reminds you of prom or the good ol' studio pic days. Overall, the drinks were reasonably priced, the crowd was a good mix, and the music was super cool. Oh, but they couldn't make certain drinks, such as mojitos or red-headed sluts and sometimes the dj cut some of the songs too abruptly. Everyone would be getting into a song and then he'd switch it up. A little transitioning would help. Still, it's a fun place to be every second Saturday of the month. You know where I'll be on November 14th!! (And if you really want to get into the groove of things, you can start by getting all decked out in your plaid shirts or TLC sports bras and faded jeans!!)
by kaylie d. on Under normal circumstances, I am no where near being a meat eater, but since sarah i. was in town, we had to do the whole "philly touristy" things (lots of fobby camera action ncluded) and eat the infamous cheesesteaks. However, after about 30 min. in line, entertaining ourselves with old tacky celeb pictures and anit-immigrant, patriotism letters hung on the walls, we were quite disappointed! Shame on Britney and J.T. for dining here. More importantly, shame on me and Sarah I. for eating meat at Geno's! yack!
by Chad Patillo on I went to Whistle here and had a blast! -The place was jumping until 6am -parking wasn't that bad considering the size of the event -the vibe was strong- philly definetly is the city of brotherly love! -Yeah it was dirty but again I think it's because there was like 3k people there that night. I'd definetly go again, even though it was at least a 5 hour drive from Boston. On a side note, WTF philly? you took the Rocky statue down?
