by Richie Schmutz on We went here after dinner at Rama 5, and didn't know quite what to expect. It was a little different from what we were hoping though. The idea of a jazz club after dinner is a great idea... in theory. Coming from New York, I have expectations. Unfortunately Sambuca didn't quite live up to them. The main thing was the restaurant portion of the club. It was huge! I was hoping for a nice dimly lit jazz bar, small tables, smoking, drinks, etc. This didn't fit the bill. We did find a couple of stools to chill out on and listen to the end of a set, which was good, but again, the ambiance was lacking... We're heading to Churchill Grounds next time for sure... We know what to expect there.
