by Rob D. on Um maybe it was the hype leading up to my first varsity visit but the burger was small and tasted horrible. I guess I expected In-n-out. The people were nice but not nice enough to warn me about getting sick on their food.
by Pill B. on I went here this weekend with a couple of friends. We got there early (before 12) and the crowd was sparse but got crowded as the night progressed. The main room setup was pretty awesome with large screens all over and their sound system is one of the best. They changed things around and the second room is downstairs instead of the upstairs patio which kinda suck. Had a good time overall, just wished they hadn't changed their setup.
by Pa Tyl on I went to check out Door 44 last night (Friday). As with Sanna, it's still in it's soft open, so it wasn't very crowded. The grand opening is this Wednesday - Saturday (yes, 4 nights!) and I expect that this place will become very popular very fast. The decor is gorgeous and luxurious - black and red, oozing with sex appeal. I loved the wallpaper- textured brocade. The bar stools and seating were a sleek, black faux-snake. This place has a large bar and a lower level with a second bar and a very small dance floor. Upstairs, it's a big open room with dance platforms and skinny girls writhing around in hot pants and fishnets . This place was very cool. I think it will become a popular Midtown hotspot, and it should attract a different crowd - this is not for the faint of heart. It's definitely got an edge. By the way - just for reference - a vodka tonic (with mid-level vodka) was $8
