by Laura M. on this place looks really cute. I like the location a lot. The food is whatever, but the bar makes really tasting drinks. It gets really crowded on saturday nights, and the parking kind of sucks. Overall, its a cool place to go with your girls and hang out and dance.
by Leslie Statler on i came last night as a guest for a short film nominee for the alice 3 minute short film fest. it was actually a very well put together event, although in the end it felt like it lasted a really long time as we did not get out till 11:30 p.m. and by that time, my butt was hurting from sitting on the hard chair for a really long time. besides the show, this was my first time at bimbo's. it's quite a distance away from north beach. it's actually closer to bay street/fisherman's wharf. so, the inside it really old school fancy. lots of woodwork, sorta dark. several bars. we sat at our table on the main floor and it was nice that waitresses came by to take our order - as we were busy watching the nominated films. the martini glasses were really small, but the drinks seemed to only cost $6 or $7 each. i had two lemon drops which were sweet and a french martini which was good, but had a "zing" to it. my only complaint was that the women's bathroom was smelly. yucks.
