Woah there are a lot of extreme polar reviews for this place. Now I'm from the east coast so I'm not too familiar with the LA scene, so here is my unbiased opinion since this was my first club in LA. I came to visit LA for the weekend and my friend's friend was a promoter who got us on the guest list. There is a parking lot for $5 right next to My House which was convenient. When we got to the door (around 10PM), yes the bouncers were full of themselves thinking they were guarding the gates to heaven, shouting at everyone to "get on the grass" which was the size of a bathroom mat. After about 15 minutes of standing there for no reason, they let us into the "foyer" then did a corny "Ladies and gentlemen...welcome to My House" before finally letting us into the goddamn place. Once we got in there it was a great time. The bartenders were quick, efficient and friendly. The drinks and prices were good. The decor was cool but I didn't get to explore beyond the 1st floor. That night was hosted by an Asian organization (I can't recall the name) and the DJ was female...started with a Y (sorry this was 2 months ago). She kept me dancing all night. So overall, bouncers = suck. DJ, drinks, decor = pretty nice. Just know the right people to get you in and its less stressful from there.

I think 364/365 days in the year, I would have absolutely 0 interest in hitting up Ruby Skye because: 1. they charge outrageous covers (like they got strippers inside?) 2. 3 hours of house music makes me more disoriented than a bottle of vodka 3. Slide (right next door) is free, legit, and totally awesome But for the 1 single day, the White Party lives. I don't mean all white people party even though that might be true most of the time, but where everyone is dressed in white. It's a must-go party, one of the best ones I have been to where everyone is just amped up and raging to the max. The place is like an auditorium / theater-like, so you can be on stage and see the huge sea of glow from the black light on white. Hard to put into words but its wildout. Then there's nothing to look forward to at Ruby for another year...

Dank, smelly, sweaty, like my girlfriend........ I really dig this place. It sort of reminds me of what Gazzari's tried to be like back in the day until they closed down. Awesome, "cozy" (if you can use that word for a club), and just plain unpretentious. While the place is physically probably nothing more than a makeshift warehouse, when the sun goes down, and the disciples gather, King King takes on a personality of its own that is just..... "Real". Great staff, great vibe, and simply laid back.
