by Indria S. on I gotta say, when I first stepped into this country/sports bar/everything else everywhere lofty type of upstairs bar...I wasn't sure what to quite make of it. Which, was intriguing for me. Atleast it had interest to it, not one of those places you can figure out with in 15 seconds of being there. I've been here several times, on week nights, and have always had a good time. They have live music-diff genres, I don't drink beer so i can't comment on the selection of Shiner beer or any other beer/prices, but the drinks have always been great. On the quiet nights-I've enjoyed the convo's with the bartenders-and some of the musicians that played that night. This is a really chill spot. Seating EVERYWHERE-good place to just sip on drinks and talk with your friends-'cause you can actually hear them. Not your usual downtown Austin type of spot- go in there knowing that and enjoy :)
by Cecily Troxel on This one tops my list--the "I Want to Forget I was Ever Here" List. There is a lot of puking here, and it's definitely not from too much alcohol consumption. First, there's the stage where random girls dance. I don't know if the club actually paid for these girls to come, but if they did, I hope they at least have a good return policy. Absolutely revolting. Then there is the crowd. Known to be an Asian party scene...dude, this place makes me ashamed to be Asian. FOBs who think they are Ghetto. Non-Asians have Asian fetishes. Shady/nasty/sleazy guys who make you feel violated from across the room. The only people who have any game or moves are those who came in here by accident & will never return again. The poor ventilation, the sticky floors, and the gazillions of mold that must be lurking in the dark. You need a gas mask to survive a night here--or in the case of this place, mouth masks like all the fobs love to wear. extra points for hello kitty patterned ones. All of this for a $20 cover. If you don't have US currency, I'm sure they'll take RMB too.
