by Marc D. on * Now THIS is good airport BBQ * This spot renews my faith in Texas airport BBQ compared with the crappy experience at Cousin's BBQ in DFW (http://www.rateclubs.com/bi...). Who said you can't get good food at an airport? The Salt Lick (http://www.rateclubs.com/bi...) has expanded from its original Driftwood location to include the Austin airport. What a great idea! The brisket tastes exactly the same, the sauce is the same, the sides are the same. The selection is more targeted to travel focusing a bit more on the sandwich options, and not offering family style. But the taste is great. Nothing like sneaking in one last fabulous BBQ brisket meal before leaving town! Hooray for good airport food!
by Gwendolyn Jastremski on Went for a friend's bday - actually I was so drunk by the time I got here everything is kind of a blur. Soo... what I remember is falling on my ass with a friend in the middle of the street right in front of the door. Two guys seeing us fall, latching on to us, and promising drinks if they could pretend they were with us. Uhhh sure... why not. Walked in, almost fell again going down the stairs... Really REALLY crowded. Don't remember the music, but it was probably bad. Went straight to the bathroom. No line - a big plus! But then again it was early... Not entirely sure why people come here since it's so small and there is literally no dance floor. Also - how can this place be categorized as a lounge when there's NO WHERE TO LOUNGE UNLESS YOU WANNA PAY $200+ TO RESERVE A BOOTH? It's not a lounge or a dance club. It's just a place to awkwardly stand around.
