by Lauren L. on I came here on a Saturday night to watch my friend and his drummer perform. After driving around the block numerous times, I finally decided to park in a spot that I wasn't supposed to. Oh well...the ride was still there when I came out so you can all rest easy knowing that I made it home safe =) I attribute the parking issues with the Ice House Comedy Club nearby. Those people talk all the spots! Unless you frequent this place, you will indeed drive past it. It's tucked in the corner and you can enter through the alley on Catalina or at the back door around the corner. There were maybe 15 people in the whole bar. Raging Saturday night. I enjoyed my Blue Moon for $4 and thought that was a steal am I wrong? They double booked the entertainment and my friend never played so I bounced. Beyond my 1 beer and conversations with my new friends on the nearby bar stools, I'd say we have a winner.
by Monroe Stands on I absolutely love Kress. My girlfriends and I went for a night on the town last night, and ended up at the opening of Kress. Kress is by leaps and bounds the best new thing in Hollywood. There are different rooms on different floors you can go to, plus a rooftop area where you can get a panoramic view of Hollywood. There's also a fine dining restaurant located on the main level that was closed when I arrived - but if the decor is indicative of the food, it's probably DELICIOUS. There wasn't a huge crowd waiting to get in, but I'm assuming that's because most people don't know it's open yet. I would suggest you go to Kress soon, because a short line for a club this hot won't last long.
by Sean S. on "You'll love the atmosphere but I'm not sure about the food" said my thoughtful sister concerned for my vegetarian status. Well sister, be assured, the food was plentiful, creatively presented and divinely tasty. The service was good though one of my cohorts tried to be engaging with the waiter and he seemed confused if not threatened. Overall, a terrific experience. Best done with beautiful, trendy people of which I was thankfully surrounded.
