I was visiting SF for a couple days, and my friend talked me into going to DNA to see Bong-Ra. Until that point, my industrial exposure had been a Nine Inch Nails concert. The show itself was so-so, but I thought the venue was pretty cool. The drinks were cheap and the service was pretty good. The crowd was a mix of steampunk and gothic, all really decked out in full accouterments. I talked to several people there, including an off duty bartender, that were all very receptive and friendly, which I thought was really nice seeing as I was dressed for a casual Friday at the office. In summation, the place is alright, just pick your shows wisely.

The food might not be anything to write home about, but Jillian's is one of only a handful of bona fide pool halls (by the hour) in the city, and the tables are well maintained. But with great power comes great responsibility. When the posse wants to shoot some stick, it seriously blows to round up, drive, park, and mosey over to the establishment only to find that the entire place has been shut down for a "special event." To be a legit hall, Jillian's needs to seriously consider their regulars and cordon off a few tables. Until then, Jillian's is a borderline 3-stars joint. For you sports junkies, there's a wall of big screens in the eating area so I expect it would be a decent venue to catch a game.
