by Ed R. on OK, first let me preface this review: I give Opera a 5 Star review as an always upstairs VIP customer. You really couldn't pay me to stay downstairs on the dance floor. I've been here 30-40 times in the past 2 years and absolutely love, love the upstairs VIP area. Bar tenders are fantastic, quick to serve, and do so with a wink and a smile. I feel bad for the downstairs tenders who are clearly overwhelmed with the usual weekend crush. The few times I was downstairs, my date would be grabbed by short little Spanish speaking people, large darker skinned males with gold teeth or college aged white guys who look like the just took their backwards baseball caps off minutes before entering the club.... Who could blame them though! This place crawls with beautiful women of all ages, colors and creeds! WOW! So, hey I'm a little older than the typical club kid who parties 4-6 nights a week...If I was in my mid 20's downstairs is the place to be, but because I'm a little bit older, make a little more money, I'm happy to pay-up to go upstairs and rate this club 5 stars!

I understand most lounges are suppose to be dark to set the mood, but you really couldnt see anything when you step out of the elevator. But as you make your way in, the lighting is much better. Anyways me and my gf were seated fairly quick at a table. Very nice, we had our own little table out of the way from everyone else. We ordered the Asian Pear soju and fried chicken to snack on. The fried chicken was really good. Smoking hot, crispy, and juicy. Could have used some salt but whatever. The soju was great but I was a little disappointed how the pitcher dips in on the side to hold ice so the soju stays cold. Nice idea and all, but if you took that spot out, could of had like 3 or 4 more shots of soju. Anyways, the place is still great and I definitely would go back again. But I think the place is more of a pre set or afterset to a club in case people still want to keep partying.
