I have heard their paninis and salads are great, but if I'm going to Delux, I'm ordering the burger. I have been to Delux several times and their extensive beer selection, creative drinks, and consistent great service makes their experience just that much more enjoyable. There are hundreds of reviews, so see them for details regarding the atmosphere and specifics, but I can reassure you their burgers are the best. Brett is the most attentive, pleasant, and knowledgeable server I've had at Delux (July 2010).
by Thomasena Unga on Ok, so some might say I'm stuck in a rut, but I can't get enough of Tuesday late night at the Star Bar. Quasi, the first DJ of the night, drove up to Lake Allatoona to DJ my brother's rehearsal dinner because my mother said please. The next DJ up Romeo Cologne has been a staple in my life since Funkadelica at The Georgia Theatre in Athens back in 1994. You can't beat the mix of people on Tuesday night. Of course my mother says that I'll never find Mr. Right at 2:30am on a Tuesday, but I plan to prove her wrong. And there's plenty of Mr. Tonight's to keep ya busy. If you like old school funk, I would suggest very little clothing, closed-toe shoes and a nap, because things don't get started till midnight.
by Darin E. on Last weekend was the 3rd time I have made it out to the Bootie mash up night. I showed up at 11 pm and I couldn't believe the line that had already wrapped around the building. You would have thought they were giving out free vaccines by how long this line was. Never had I seen this before. Standing in line was good because It gave me an chance to observe the interesting clientele of the mashup night. I am talking full spectrum of people ranging from douchebags (with popped collars) to Goth kids that are "too cool" for this place but decided to show up anyway. The great thing about this place is that there are a great number of nice people that do show up to have fun. Everyone is generally in a good mood and just want to dance. But not everyone... While I was there dancing on a super crowded dance floor a gal started getting pissy with me because I bumped into her. But the good natured crowd quickly let her know to drop her baditude. That and when she looked at the guy she was with to prompt him to "do something"...I flashed my guns and it was over before it started. hahahahahahheheheheheheeh Kidding about flashing "my guns", actually the guy was embarrassed she was being such a snot. Problem solved. My one critique about this place is that the music is pretty damn loud. This seems to be the only club that leaves my ears ringing for 20 hours afterward. I recommend bringing ear plugs. Furthermore the bar at this place can be a log jam so I recommend bringing a flask. Also, if you are a single guy this place is a gold mine. If I were not so shy and actually was motivated to meet someone this is the place to do it at. I always see a large amount of girls that are really nice and fun.
