by Britton S. on The good news: Overall fun music on both dance floors. The bouncers are not just tough, but hostile. I go out dancing to undo some of the harshness of the week, only to be treated like an animal at this club. I waited 20 minutes to retrieve my coat (which bears $3 fee). When the bartender messed up my drink order (whih cost $12) , he refused to fix it. I asked a manager who told me "I can't manage 800 people." Isn't that your job?! Posh is much more fun, music is just as good, and the staff is much friendlier.
by Derek Weiand on I have only been to this venue twice and hated it both times. The website say they open at 9 pm, they even tell the bands they open at 9 pm. However the truth is they open when they have made paying customers wait outside long enough to form a line. Hello this is a band venue not a A-list Hollywood night club. Last was my recent escapade at what is known as the Dragonfly. I like to refer to it as vomit land. Seriously it smelled like vomit. While waiting outside I asked the "bouncer" why their website said they open at 9 and yet we were standing outside at 9.30. His response, "I didnt know we had a website." Really awesome and intelligent employees. I then encourage the rest of the line to join me at the liquor store about a block away. We did and again the bouncer was not happy with me. I figure why wait to spend money in a venue who is making us wait outside? Once inside and taking in all the vomit smell I could handle I asked the "manager" on duty why it smelled so bad inside the venue. His response, "All bars smell like this. It is what happens when you have a lot of people drinking a lot of alcohol." I said, "True, but even trashy Cabo Cantina tries to cover the vomit smell with bleach." I did not buy any drinks last night because I refused to pay money after they made me wait outside for 45 minutes. However I heard plenty of complaints that the drinks were weak and the bartenders were bitchy. No surprise there. I do not recommend going on a Sunday, unless you are lame. The Spazmatics play, and they are a really good 80's cover band. They just have a super lame following. There is valet parking, if you can find the guy running the operation. It $10! There is not a lot so your car is just going to end up on the street. I say find your own parking, its really not that hard. There are no signs visible from the street, so you basically have to know where you are going in order to find the place. This may be why the owner chooses to create a line at the beginning of the night, so people know where the hell they are going. I think its a $10-$15 cover if you are not on the guest list. A complete waste of money. Save it and go to a real bar that doesnt smell like vomit.
