I really like this place!! We came here for a fashion show a few weeks ago and although the show was just alright, the gallery is pretty cool! I love the layout of the place and would definitely come back here at night when it turns into a "night club". The people who work there are super nice and I love how they have 2 separate bar areas so the line doesn't get too long.  Definitely will be back with the bf soon!

I really enjoy National Mechanics, starting from the bank-like exterior.  While it mainly seems to be a bar, the place has an interesting menu with outstanding food.  The wife LOVES the homemade veggie burger.  I dig their pastas especially, but have enjoyed gyros, burgers, and other sandwiches here as well.  Almost always top notch. There's a big beer list here, but since they offer $2 lager, I don't usually explore it. The staff here is heavily tattooed and pierced, with a little attitude, but only in the way that makes you grin and say, "this place has character." Also, they have a very interesting - and tasty - brunch menu, along with a make-your-own bloody mary bar. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that, for whatever reason, I've had a few evenings where my Nat Mec's dinner didn't sit very well.  Maybe a lot of oil in the cooking or something.  But that is not the norm...

It never gets very busy in here which is why I like it. They have a pool table and a full bar so I can get a bourbon on the rocks which is perfect. Their food is not bad either plus they have this tasty Ethiopian beer called Harar. I always order one with my meal. All in all it's a very laid back atmosphere and a perfect place to go if you want mellow. Plus it's only a few blocks from my house. My only gripe is they seriously need to update their jukebox. Not enough hip hop and too much old early 90's bad music - Collective Soul, Spin Doctors, Counting Crows - big no no!!
