by Sean S. on Went to this place last night with some friends as an after party. It used to be called "Pressure", and they've done some renovations. I have to say the renovations are kinda cool and fun. The place is all decked out like a carnival, not the Brazilian, but rather the Coney Island big top kind. In fact I think some of the booths may have been sent direct from Coney Island, or at least that's what someone told me. Another thing I liked was how you walk through this dark hallway, and you're in this dance floor area. But you feel like you're walking through a spooky haunted house or something. One thing I really didn't like those is the gunshots. Yeah, they have the actual shooting ranges, try to hit a bottle, and win a teddy bear, that kind of thing. Works great outdoors, but is DAMN loud indoors. Dunno, kinda freaked me out the first few times. I guess one gets used to it. What else, well they were friendly at the door downstairs, and upstairs... so yeah I'd go back. It's not bad, kinda fun. They also have pool tables, so that could work!
by Sena Mossa on I have been here twice. Once for the night club and once for the Brunch/Sunday's a Drag Show. As a club I would give it 4 stars. The interior is lovely with fabric walls and decor that makes me think of old Hollywood ... but I shouldn't be surprised, because from what I hear that is very Harry (Denton). Everything is clean, and the bathrooms are enormous (at least the girls is), I think this is the one SF club where I have not had to stand in line. And from the 30 story height you get some killer views of the City. Despite all that I felt a little out of place. The DJ was OK, but he wouldn't play our song request ... I guess because it wasn't a top 40, or Michael Jackson circa 1984 (not that there is anything wrong with that). Definite 5 stars for the Sunday Brunch show. The buffet was super good ... they has this smoked salmon dish ... I can't even explain what it was but it was good. And truffle deviled eggs! There was so much good stuff to choose from ... even for those who have to eat gluten free, you won't be sad that you have to bypass the fresh croissants and chocolate french toast (well OK ... that one does hurt a little). But you can console yourself with a Bellini (oh, my kingdom for a good Bellini). Just be sure to make and early enough reservation because you can't get up during the show to get seconds, or thirds. You should probably be sure to finish eating before the show starts anyway, because eating and laughing at the same time usually result in choking. This show is so San Francisco and should be seen at least once by locals and tourists alike.
by Samantha M. on I had a great time with the people I went out with, but this bar is not worth the $20 to get in. It was overcrowded, so it was difficult to dance. Also, the other side of the bar was more fun (they were playing better music), but we did not know until close to closing time. The drinks are insanely expensive, but they are very strong. I would say you get your money's worth. The men are pretty sleazy. Granted, I don't date men, but from what I could tell, they didn't take no for an answer sometimes. I thought it was neat that a guy came in to sell roses toward the end of the night. We bought one for the birthday girl. The women's bathroom has a window in it, so the guys hang out in the area. Kind of gross. I also had a "this is the women's room" experience the second time I went in. Can't blame them. I was wearing a button up and they were all wearing belly shirts, but it still pissed me off. Keep in mind, a lot of people bring cameras. I saw a top of flash going off when some girl decided to make out with her friend while dancing on some furniture. I bet their on the Internet.
