It was a cold, cold Saturday night and after a session ice skating we were in need of some good, clean and delicious food. We headed to Pod, the Steven Starr restaurant I had heard so much about from my wife and friends. Upon entering I was taken into another world of futuristic bright lights and ambience. The moulded seating in the waiting area was like something out of a Space Odyssey and the rest of the decor was like a lot of the high-end Japanese restaurants I had seen on TV in Tokyo sushi places. We were greeted and seated immediately with a very knowledgeable and friendly waiter. We order asked for recommendations as we wanted something special for two people. We ordered some edemame to get started which was delicious and some cocktails from his recommendations. I had a Samurai Jack, substituting the Jack Daniels for J & B. This had crushed mint, honey, J & B and raspberry juice and was very refreshing. My wife had one of the Yuzu cocktails with grapefruit juice which was sweet but still tasty. For our entrees we decided to go all out and order the Maki Maki Maki, a 60 piece variety platter of all kinds of sushi including the California Roll classic, yellow tail and jalapenos, eel, tuna and several others. Our food came out looking spectacular, served on a three tiered plate set for ease of selection! The place got pretty packed out around a half hour after we arrived so we were lucky to get a table especially on a Saturday. The atmosphere was great, with the sushi chefs and sushi train on display and a good long bar displaying all manner or wines, beers and liquors. If you are willing to splash and out and want a really incredible sushi experience I couldn't recommend this place enough. It's everything you expect from a Starr restaurant with the attention to detail right down to the layout, menu format and presentation. I can't wait for another great sushi craving to head there once more. The best sushi restaurant I have ever been to!

Temple may have just lead me to scratch off clubbing in San Francisco all together. Let's start from the beginning. 3 of us girls went and paid a $20 cover. Line wasn't too bad, moved quickly. We were pretty excited cuz we had heard good things about this place -- three different rooms with different music, etc. ((thanks rateclubs!)). Yah...not so much. As soon as we walked in and entered the techno floor we immediately wanted a refund. We found the hiphop downstairs and felt a little better. Until... The downstairs does resemble a cave a little bit, however for us it was more of a pirahna tank. The music was good, albeit towards the end it got a little funky. The 3 of us had a good time dancing to the music but spent most of our time trying to twirl around the dance floor away from the little ((keyword)) sharks. We were dancing facing each other and all around creepers were slowly moving in behind one of us. At one point...we were even head-butted as a last ditch attempt to catch our attention. There were no men there over 5 foot 3...save 2. The shortest of us girls is 5'6 and we were all in heels. So we had some nipple grazers. And I'm sorry, but you gotta be this tall to ride the ride. One star for the strong drinks. One star for the music/decor. But unless Temple starts establishing a height requirement for men...we won't be coming back.
