Went there for my first time last night. We came for the free salsa lessons and live music, and both were great! We got there at 8 and didn't leave til 2 which is rare for me to stay at a club for that long, so it was definitely fun. The lessons move very fast paced so you might need to go a couple times to really get them down. I was concerned coming there as a single guy with no partner that there wouldn't be enough girls to partner up with but boy was I wrong! In fact there weren't enough guys there and many girls had to wait for a partner. The sangria is pretty good and the bartenders make stiff drinks. The band was awesome and very in touch with the crowd. There are many Salsa pros dancing around the dance floor and they're not shy to ask a beginning girl to dance, so if you have a good partner then try to stick by her til you absolutely need a break. Good way to workout, get drunk, meet people, and hear some live authentic music. I'll be back!

When Oslo re-opened I was stoked that there was another sushi place downtown. I went about four times in the first 3 months they were re-opened. I was always either the only person in there, or one of few (both at lunch and dinner). Even if I was alone in the restaurant (literally, the only customer), service was still on the slow side (and items were sometimes forgotten about). The sushi chef is very nice, and does a great job. The thai food is really delicious, and they have a lot of veggie options. I haven't experienced the downstairs club since it reopened, but I did not enjoy it the first time around (just not my scene). Overall, I'm not impressed. If I want to eat sushi downtown I typically won't go here. It's not bad, but for the money and the iffy atmosphere it's just not worth it.

A late night rendezvous brought me to Top Flr around 10:30 p.m. The dark, but inviting atmosphere, accented by a textured wallpaper and soft industrial lighting, allowed my friend and I to have a serious discussion against the blithesome music. A robust wine list featured predominantly European wines-a favorite of mine, aside from a buttery California Chardonnay. The lamb skewer appetizer was a bit dry and saved by the cauliflower couscous and the nice-bodied Syrah. The server was friendly and helpful, but overly attentive. Let my plate sit empty for just a few minutes so that I may reflect on the meal. As a recent New York transplant, the notable difference I found is that Atlanta restaurants aim to turnover with repeated offers by servers to bring me something more. I just want to enjoy my meal without the pressure to order anything else. Oh, and please don't bring the check before it is requested.
