by Fredricka Godar on Bimbos is located in my backyard in North Beach and considering I've heard so many great things, my expectations were pretty high. When I heard The Notwist was promoting their new album, I almost freaked when I heard they were playing here! There is no other place in SF (or the Bay Area) that I would rather watch one of my favorite band play. I didn't want to sit through an hour of opening bands so a friend and I arrived right before The Notwist arrived on stage. In retrospect, I should have arrived earlier to try to secure a closer spot near the stage. Looking around, I noticed there doesn't seem to be a bad spot in the room. There were tables set up in the back for those that opted to sit instead and the main floor accomodated the crowd well. Overall, I love how the place has so much charm and the vibe is so unpretentious. Can't wait to come back to catch another show.
