I am new to the Austin area and I heard that Trudy's was a great place for Tex-Mex. While the food was actually pretty good, I will not be returning because the service was so terrible. The waiter practically ignored our table, my glass was only filled twice and the entire place was overcrowded. For a place so highly recommended, I was extremely disappointed.

I took three friends with me to see the Sunday's a Drag show. This was my third time. Donna Sachet does a great job with her quick wit and ad libs. Having seen two previous shows, I was disappointed that the comedy routine was not part of this show. Previously they did a very funny Lucille Ball skit and a send up on an aging Cher with "If I Could Turn Back Time." That drag queen was not there. Harry or Michael (producer) if you read this, bring her back! A definite +. Cassandra is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Having seen more than a few drag shows around the country she stands out in a class all her own. If you've never been to a drag show you'll be amazed. The food was very good and tasty. I was disappointed in the Bloody Mary. It's one of my favorite drinks and their version lacked spiciness and was rather bland and watery. (Think just tomato juice with vodka and ice and an olive). Skip the Bloody Mary . For $10 a pop I expected better. I ordered a mimosa and our friendly server suggested a variation called a Bellini. No disappointment there. All in all, a very fun way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday. We had great seats but almost all are as it's a very intimate setting. Just one aside. I have no idea why a couple would bring a toddler (= crying baby) to a show like this. At least they whisked the kid away from the front row when it started boo hoo'ing. Brain check parents. Brain check.
