by Jennifer B. on Wasn't impressed. For an appetizer, my husband and I got the bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp was under-cooked so we didn't get off to a good start. I got the Pulled Pork with "Oven Baked Mac and Cheese" and potato salad. The pork wasn't bad, could be more "pulled" but the sauce was good. The potato salad and mac and cheese were not good. The mac and cheese tasted like it was made a week ago and microwaved right before it was brought to the table. and "oven baked" I don't think so. My husband got the mutton and brisket and they were both incredibly fatty. I think he didn't eat his sides either. Basically, If I hadn't paid so much I wouldn't have cared. I just feel, at these prices, the sides should be much better. Instead, the sides are like really bad cafeteria food... and I mean a school cafeteria.
by Laurence Sunder on Most people go to "the Local" for a cheap PBR or a strong drink (or both). You have to love a bar top made of copper BBs. What keeps me coming back to "the Local" is the BBQ. Their pulled pork is good and you can even get it in a wrap. But I really like their ribs. They are baby back pork ribs. They are not wet but moist and tasty. I'm not 100% sure but I think they just use a dry rub. They have three different sauce flavors; mustard based, vinegar based, and tomato based. The sauce is separate and on the table, just the way I like it. I'm giving the ribs all my stars on this review. PS if you don't like second hand smoke eat outside.
