There are dorm rooms bigger than the dance floor. Wouldn't say it's the greatest place to get your groove on, especially since Friday night DJ was meh. Hey Mister DJ, if I wanted to listen to pop, I'd turn up KIIS FM and party in my living room! What makes up for it are the drinks (good), decor (better) and location (best). Next to a 24 hr Jerry's Famous Deli in case you get hungry after dancing, or if you've had too much to drink, Cedars is across the street to save you!

Another place that I was told was overrated that surprised me. There menu is pricey and I an understand why people could potentially complain about its rather ordinary dishes costing so much. However, the 24.07 lunch deal is a steal! The duck spring rolls were amazing. Really rich and flavorful. The wok seared sirloin entree was great. Plenty and a nice quality meat with a great flavor. My friend got the pad thai which honestly from what I tasted was very ordinary. However, she liked it and the portion was huge. dessert was the only place were I felt they faltered. Banna Pudding that was pretty much the Nilla Wafer's recipe. Overall I would definitely come back for the lunch deal, but I am not going anywhere near the normal 20 dollar plus entrees on the regular menu. I came away from lunch impressed with the expansive interior and stuffed which is a big deal when it comes to restaurant week menus.

I was at P1 not one, but two times this week! I will echo others by saying that this swanky gallery/lounge is a sexier version of 111 Minna. During SF Wine Week's Opening Party, about 10 wineries were stationed inside the gallery, so most of the crowd was packed in there. Last night at the Thrillist Anniversary Party, most people were spread out, chillaxin on the chic banquettes while the DJ spun old skool hip hop beats. While Project One only offers wine, beer and soju cocktails, they offer 2 for 1 beer and cocktails during their happy hour from 4-8pm Tue-Fri. To keep things fresh, the art in the gallery rotates every 2 weeks. The venue is a great spot to host a private party for 250-300 people. Parking is plentiful, but I'm not so sure cabs are super easy to come by out there in the sleepy Design District.
