I've been trying to find a place to hang out on Fridays in Hollywood. I like to dance and decided to check out the club based on some good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The club wasn't big compared to Avalon. It was a nice place to hang out with friends or dance your ass off to house. Be sure you like house and love to dance. I didn't sit down the whole night. Couldn't tell you if the drinks were expensive or not, I didn't have time to drink. Be sure to RSVP to get in b4 11pm for $10; I think it was $20 after 11pm. Valet parking is expensive though. Where else can they charge you $20 and you have no choice but to pay. I would have rated the place 5 stars, but someone took my friend's wallet. It was returned to lost & found less the cash. We have a feeling it wasn't a cluber who took/found the wallet if you know what I mean. Enjoy yourself at King King. I'll be back next Friday.

While the decor and "attitude" of the restaurant are selling points for some, what always made Tao great to me was that it was an Asian place with good desserts. Asian AND with good desserts. That was their edge to me. We've been to Tao a few times, mainly for birthdays, and have always had a great meal and a good time. This time was more of a "good" meal and a good time as several menu items have been changed. The dessert menu has been changed a good deal - so no more Chocolate Raspberry Wontons. (Why take this off the menu? It was why I came here to start with!) Luckily they have other good desserts, though the Giant Fortune Cookie was sort of a letdown. The previously-awesome Fuji Apple Springrolls are different now too (they used to be light and flaky - now they're more doughy and chewy). Boo. My advice: If you've eaten here before, make sure they still have what you want before you head out to dinner as they've changed their menu. As for appetizers, don't get the "new" chicken satay - it was weird. Instead, get the awesome Chilean Sea Bass. It's still good food and a memorable experience, but know what you're getting into. (And know that Cokes, at 3.50 a piece, are NO free refills!)

Project One is a very unique space. And me? I like that whole unique "thing". Apparently a renovated furniture showroom, they've done a fantastic job making the place look urban, grungy and hip by using lighting and creative, fun wall art (the bronze birds were a great touch, it inspired me). Last night was the 1yr anniversary of the website/newsletter Thrillist here in San Francisco (great job guys!), and boy howdy did Project One set the tone for the night. The bar staff was extremely prompt on getting everyone their booze of choice, and the Dj was spinning super hip beats. I really did enjoy myself. Even though some of my compatriots were not fans of the little bird art in the main gallery, I thought they were FREAKING ADORABLE! If I had money, I'd buy a ton of them and decorate my house with random bird paintings. Wait....I sense a theme here. Birds.....AhhhhhIgetitnowduh... I like the idea of a gallery/bar/club. It's kinda the same model as 111 Minna, but as Nicole G writes, it's the "sexy version". And it's true. Dead, dead sexy. It's too bad it's kinda in the cuts, but hell, I'll rock it if every night there goes as smoothly as last night. Big ups to the dirty balloon animal man from last night. If you've ever wanted (or didn't want) to know what a "dirty poodle" is, just ask Anna K, as she is the proud new owner of said balloon porn* *this is the second post in the last week I've mentioned porn, I've got to get my mind out of the gutter....
