Saturday night. friend's birthday. bottle service. I arrived late with 4 other guys and so we couldn't get comped with the bottle service our party got, so each one of us paid $20 cover even though we were on the guest list. I wouldn't have minded if the club wasn't so ghetto. I was blitz upon arrival, and so of course everything seems okay. The dance floor was way too crowded. This was more of a hispanic club more so than diverse or asian. The guys and i were talking about how we would've rather gone to a bar then the hassle driving to hollywood, paying for parking, and paying for cover. next time i'd opt to skip this club and go to highlands inthe same plaza or somewhere down the street of hollywood blvd. For a club that appeared in the Hills.. i thought it would be better, but guess not.

the place: the outside looks like Mayan ruins crossed with Legends of The Hidden Temple. i choose team Blue Barracudas! it's a really huge place. when you enter (for yr safety) you have to walk through a metal detector. i don't mind that at all. i have no problem with the main floor. it's big, sound is good and loud, they provide you with go-go dancer entertainment. fully loaded bars with expensive drinks (of course) and a large smoking patio. you ask why i come here? my siblings enjoy these places. i don't. i do have a problem with the other floors. you'd think that with all the money made with $10-20 cover charge and bar money they'd be able to offer proper ventilation on the third and basement floor. i went to the basement and i seriously felt like i was in a sauna. i left with my jeans stuck to my legs. disgusting. i don't know how this is legal. the upstairs is the same. not only that but the restrooms are located next to the dance floor. it's a really narrow claustrophobic area to be standing in. this is why i spent a lot of time outside in the smoking patio. i like that you have direct access from the upper floors to the smoking patio in case of an emergency. the music: i've come on friday and saturday night. fridays are top 40 nights on the main level. Saturdays are salsa nights on the main floor while other floors are top 40 and hip hop. to be honest i would rather go to the salsa night. i don't know how to dance salsa but the crowd is way better. people are more real and there's a lot professionals. you can observe and envy their skills. the only time i got down was when they played flashback 80's. the crowd: ladies. there's a difference between dressing classy and sexy and dressing sexy and slutty. i don't think these girls get that. i could seriously walk around taking pictures for What Not To Wear. i guess some girls like the attention and to be disrespected by hungry wolves. while it's entertaining to see these weak displays of attention, it's also annoying. i'm not a prude but please don't blind me with your horrible assets. i'm always expecting to get my hair pulled. seriously, chill the eff out. peace, love, and kisses. i don't want yr man so please stop staring me down. i'm very aware that i was not born and raised in LA. men. these men don't know the difference between being a gentleman and coming off as perverts/creeps. one thing about latino men is that they are aggressive. they do not quit. why do guys think that they have a right to just grab yr hand, waist, or ass? sorry, if you think i'm a bitch, but really back off. no i don't want to dance with you and sunglasses at night. just don't. sorry for being so harsh but seriously...meh to Club Mayan. i'd rather spend $20 buying a ticket to a concert or drinks at a dive bar with a jukebox. i kinda hate clubs.

My friends were having a really bad week. I decided to surprise them and take them out to dinner at Flip! Since it seems like I am the only on in my group that likes to try new places, they were amazed that I knew about Flip and the location of the establishment. (Um, thanks rateclubs!) Like all the reviews on here, this place is AMAZING. I think I will quote my friend Josh, "Wow, this place reminds me of New York and this is seriously one the best burgers I ever had!" We started off with a sampling of the Sweet Potato Tots...I think I could eat those sweet bite sized morsels everyday! The sides were so good, we decided to order another batch of Sweet Potato Tots, French Fries and Vodka Battered Onion Rings. All of them were delicious and the dipping sauces were awesome, especially the Smokey Mayo! Josh and Bryan ordered the Butcher Block Burger and I got the Codfish. Torrie was content on drinking her multiple glasses of Vodka Tonic. Josh and Bryan loved their burger and I really enjoyed the Codfish! I was the only one that ordered dessert...as always...and got the Krispy Kreme Milkshake. It was good...no, it was flipping good! :) Highlights of the night: - The waiter giving me my shake and telling me to keep pumping the straw up and down so that the liquid nitrogen doesn't solidify my shake and coming back 5 min later with me still pumping the straw! - Torrie doing the Dirty Sanchez "Hmmm...smells like you ate at Flip for Dinner" - Bryan and his whole "Double Bagging" thing - Josh flirting with the table next to us and the waiter and the bartender, and..... - Where's Brooks? Fantastic food and good times! Definitely coming back here!!!
