Oh Silk City, I was totally feelin your dance party on Saturday night. What I love is that you're not pretending to be anything more than you are. Yes, your bathrooms are simply disgusting. But your bouncer was kind enough to shine a flashlight on my boots and inform me that I had walked out trailing a long stream of toilet paper and not judge me for it. Your DJ kept me and a packed dance floor groovin all night to a bumpin mix of recent dancey music, old school hip-hop, and pop from the past 10 years. $5 mixed drinks kept me and my wallet happy. $3 cover for the ladies is worth it, and dudes, you're lucky that you can get in for $6. Best dance party I've been to in Philly - not pretentious, not sketchy, awesome music, cheap booze, lots of fun! I will take the El all the way from West Philly to come back.

like to be trendy? think you're cool? HEHEHEHE. TAO on a weekend night.. LOUD and DARK. they have a bar on the second floor and another seating area right next to the bar and a huge first floor of tables. they also have a lounge area that is always crowded at nights. TAO in the day time, i feel, is not too bad. I went once for dessert. their something something with wontons and berries and ice cream and stuff. OMG delicious. I went at night once and their sushi was reallllly good. It's rather on the more expensive side but it is still so worth it. And the bartender was really charming too. My sister kept saying the drink was too strong so he was more than happy to remake it for her. they have a buddha statue -- like every other asian place.. -- and under it is a pond with live fish. LOVEEEED IT. but then again i just really love fountains and ponds. the bathroom. they have someone standing there handing you paper towels and turning the faucet on for you. i think most people tip the lady.. but its not horrible if you dont. Anywho.. it is quite expensive but it is worth trying at least once in your life in NYC. HEHE. p.s. they have matches. :))

This place is cool. It is very trendy and upscale. I took a client out to STK for dinner this past September and had a really fantastic time. The cocktails were amazing I got this Strawberry Martini ...with freshly chopped strawberries. It was just perfect, not overwhelmingly sweet. The food was really good too, I don't recall what I got but I know I enjoyed the food alot! It's a great place to go out to with a big group of people. It's like a really nice trendy club that serves really good food. It's very expensive - so ideal if the bill's getting expensed!

Crone's Bar (which is better known as Henry's Uptown Bar) is one of the last of the true New Orleans corner bars. It has been run by the same family since 1900. Lee Harvey Oswald used to frequent the place. It has been renovated since the storm and now has a lot of TVs for viewing sports. But the songs on the juke box are great old sing alongs and the place still has the look and feel of old Uptown.
