I went to Tao for restaurant week. It was ok.. a bit over rated. The reason I gave Tao 3 stars is for the atmosphere and the portions. There was no way I could come close to finishing my meal here, it was far too much food. I ordered dumplings, sirloin and mango sorbet. All were good the meat was a bit fatty. I had the grapefruit cocktail... it was spectacular.

OK, I am not sure if they open up Opera and Crimson together anymore, but when they did it was the best. Opera by itself is just ok. Cool space with a mysterious fog machine out front lol. The drinks are a little pricey, but overall good. Music was great and the crowd wasn't too snooty (thank god!) I would go back to Opera again.

I recommend this bar if your looking for a mellow place to just hang out and chat with some friends or a date. It's just simply a bar. It has a couple of pool tables but I have never played while there. The bartenders remember my drink every time I walk back in. They remember my name and has a Cheers feel (with a SF vibe). Often this is where I go after work and hang with a date or friends and sit on the couch, watch the game and enjoy some drinks. The only negative part is the music at times can be somewhat loud. You could ask them to turn it down or up if it's a particularly cool song.
