by Leigh W. on I came here during the week at around 2pm when it was absolutely dead. The drinks are nothing special but the atmosphere is super cool. It's a great change of pace from the usual drinking spots in the city. I need to come back here at night to get a real feel for it. Check it out during the day if you're not into the crowds.
by Elvia Plautz on It was my friends birthday so she wanted to make reservations to be on the VIP guest list for this occasion. As we were driving down Hollywood blvd i noticed a lot of starving homeless, men singing in the streets, trash, lots of traffic and vibrant neon signs. We started to bump T.I. ft. Rihanna "Live Your Life" it couldn't have been a better song for the night and the years to come. "You need to be thankful for the life you got, stop looking at what you ain't got and start being thankful for what you do got...so live your life" It started off with $20 parking (glad we carpooled!) We waited 30 minutes in line in the freezing cold! Although we had reservations we could not cut the line it only allowed the ladies to get in FREE and the guys to pay $10. They accepted California driver licenses, passports, and green cards! We came inside to find it empty, grr! I noticed they did not have a coat check (bummer!) It was hot as hell inside. It finally got packed around 12:30. "Just live your life (Oh!), ay ay ay." Layout: It had a nice spacious layout with many different levels. I noticed one small detail that could be fixed, the only way to get to the second bar and restrooms was up the stairs there was a man directing traffic with a flash light, have spotlights or floor lights to prevent drunken falls there shouldn't be a man at every event..kind of weird. I LOVED the wheelchair lift i have NEVER seen one in a club. that was awesome. Since the club did not have enough square footage for a ramp they installed a wheelchair lift. Mood had several cozy lounges with small cocktail tables for your drinks. I did not see the indoor smoking area. The bar: While my friends were ordering drinks i was busy touching the bar's facade. I was amazed it had intricate cut out details i couldn't tell the material but the back light definitely set the mood. Cocktails and shots were $11 each. The restrooms: simple, stone walls, intricate faux wood stalls. I loved the long under mount "trough" sink. It added a nice touch. Design/ Concept: A neutral color palette, earthy tones with exotic light fixtures with tons of white votive candles everywhere! Perhaps the lighting set the mood? hehe. Reminded me of an upscale west elm. Music: It was a pleasant variety. Gotta love the reggae and Latin music. I had no idea what most of the artists were because i don't listen to the radio. by Tomasz B. on I actually like this place. Once in a blue moon, my friends and I will hit Bubble Lounge and have your typical good night out. Good place + good friends = good time. Easy equation :) Nice charm upstairs and a cool little cove downstairs if you want to get your "groove" on. * Side Note: I was little disappointed the last visit we made to Bubble Lounge though. The service at the bar was immensley slow and I think we might have ran into one of the bartenders that was having a bad day; but one of the bartenders noticed the service we were receiving and made an effort to tell the manager who later apologized :) Just one of those little things that brings a humble smile to your face.
