This place is amazing. I went last night and sat briefly at the bar and then moved to the back patio for drinks. They have incredible beers on tap and perfect cocktails - the bartender is great. We got attentive and very friendly service, there was an amazing live band playing 20's style jazz, and the unique, almost bohemian ambience of this place is really fun - upscale and casual at the same time. I got hungry and had their burger - and it was the best I've ever eaten. I got into a debate with the head chef (Sonya Cote) about how I cook my cheeseburgers at home and she brought out a perfectly cooked, seasoned patty made of lamb and goat meat topped with goat cheese and an egg for good measure. I bow to her superior burger. She (and the other cooks there) struck me as very passionate about food and cooking. Out of genuine excitement, one of them brought out a huge grouper that looked like it was swimming earlier that day just so we could see this amazing specimen. What I love best though is that it is a local and independently owned small business that only serves food grown by local farmers. And their prices are reasonable too! It is not a huge place, so get a reservation if you have a sizable group or are planning to go at peak hours. I can only imagine the folks who weren't happy with their service either did not plan ahead and showed up at peak hours with a group and no reservation, they are the type of folk who find reason to complain about anything, or they watched too many episodes of Hell's Kitchen. So, go there and enjoy the great service, incredible locally grown food, amazing drinks, the popping ambience, and support an independent restaurant and local farmers! This is a true gem!

Temple is big, temple is loud, temple is full of a mixed but mostly out-of-towner crowd. I do love the fact that it is very large with different music to pick from. I get snobby when going to clubs after too much time spent in Vegas and places that actually have nice clubs. For being a big city SF really sucks when it comes to posh night clubs. Everything is so small and shabby and just thrown together. Temple does it ok though. Very large, white with black lights in most of the places (downstairs is a bit too basementy feeling, but they gotta work with what they got and again, it's ok). Decent amount of seating for bottle service etc. I only go if I'm with a party, I wouldn't ever actually wait outside in those attrocious lines to spend time here. The hubbs has done some shows here and it's a big enough space the catwalk and shows go off well and fit the vibe, it doesn't feel forced or awkward like in some spaces people decide to do fashion shows (que lame club NV across the street - terrible!). The crowd overall is good with a mix of people too. Of course it seems asian's rule the night club scene in the city, nothing against my asian girl-friends - but i hate being the only 6 foot tall (actually taller since if its a club i do NOT wear flats) blonde head sticking above the typically shorter asian invasion scene, ya know? So a mix is good, and I always appreciate some nice tall men to help even out the height ratio. Temple offers that.
