by Leigh W. on I came here during the week at around 2pm when it was absolutely dead. The drinks are nothing special but the atmosphere is super cool. It's a great change of pace from the usual drinking spots in the city. I need to come back here at night to get a real feel for it. Check it out during the day if you're not into the crowds.

by Jason Y. on Highlands was a cool club to go to back in 2004. The drinks are fair, not weak , not strong, but they charge you the typical Hollywood price of $10-11 bucks for a well drink. Music is actually not bad here but it get hella packed on the dance floor so you can't really dance, only lean. Also for some reason theres always a distinct smell of FAB on the dance floor. What's FAB you say? Funk, As* and Balls! That mixed with spices. That's the Highland's scent. Also you can bet it's going to be an Octoberfest every time you go. Nothing but alcohol and sausages. The guy to girl ratio is usually about 6:1. Another thing you can count on is there will be a fight before the night is over. Last time I went I had front row seats to a fight that broke out at the back area. There was a fine black chick getting jumped (literally) by 4 HEEEAAAVY set/ Big Boned Latin chicks. One of them actually held the black chick down as another jumped on top of her like a wrestler leaping off the top ropes. Security showed up about 5 mins into the match so if you are going to get into a fight there be prepared to go the full round before help arrives. Other than that just another Hollywood club located in a mall.
