Gold Bar could be seen as yet another pretentious venue for the rich, famous, and wanna be either, can frolic and air kiss in privacy. However, if one is either beautiful, rich, or lucky, or lucky to know someone, they too can dance on gold swathed banquettes and clink glasses with the elite. I guess one could say I am considered 'beautiful' or 'attractive' but really, what does that mean? But my No means Yes attitude had me and my friend quickly ushered into the elite playground. So what do you do when you are a virtual 'nobody' in a swarm of somebodies, i think I've seen her befores, wannabees and isn't she a Victoria's Secret models? You dance. You dance like your mama told you if you stop you would get your ass beat. You dance as if you were being possessed by Richard Simmons You dance to rap, you dance to top 40's, you get excited when you hear some Deadmaus5 and you DRINK You drink the Gold Rush, You drink your regular- Energizer Bunny (vodka, OJ, and a splash of Sugar Free Redbull), then you go back to Gold Rush because its so strong yet so smooth, and you mix in a few other menu drinks offered by all of the generous patrons and start feeling extra awesome Then you talk. You talk to models, actors, the HAAAAAAAAUTE Jewish Wall Streeter (mmmmmm hot Jew yummy), one of your favorite clothing deisgners, and never mind that you are just a makeup artist and Etsy Entrepreneur. You are Golden

If you are looking for good stiff drinks, and well, good stiff boys, look no further than Blake's on the park! Blake's is pretty much a staple of gay midtown, and it always has something going on. One of the best things, is that you can walk from Piedmont park, so on those Sunday afternoons when you are in the park, you can swing by Blake's for a drink! Since they renovated a little while back, the place has an urban feel, with plasma tv's and more eye candy to take in than ever! If you are gay and new in town, I definitely recommend checking Blake's out... it is a great place to start your gay Atlanta experience. Be forewarned, it is definitely an S&M bar... Stand and Model that is. Lots and lots of pretty boys; but is that such a bad thing? Drag shows and trivia throughout the week.
