by Irene C. on When I heard that the owners of Zanzibar had opened a bar in the Silverlake area, I was down to check it out. Big mistake. My friends and I went to the Little Temple on a Wednesday night and waited over two hours to get in. Granted there was a decent DJ performing, but this was no ordinary waiting in line experience. Mobs of people were cutting at the front the line and when the bouncer did nothing, a group of locals in the back of the line started physically pushing through everyone else. Any complaints were met with death glares and threats. So, we all quickly shut up and let them push their way in because hey, this obviously wasn't worth getting stabbed over. The incompetence of the staff and abundance of unmannered folks made this experience a far cry from any in West LA or Hollywood. I would not recommend The Little Temple but if you absolutely MUST: Get there no later than 10 PM or be in for a sorry night.
by Andrew R. on Been three times, and they are three for three. Stiff drinks and free oysters during happy hour on Fridays. They have good happy hour specials, and great patio in back with a grill that is usually cooking something. You will see lots of girls with tattoos, who likely hate the Marina.
by Timmy Ytuarte on How am I the first to review this? I thought you people were into dive bars? Oh, that's right, you meant "dive bars" like the ones that take credit cards and clean their bathrooms periodically. Like the Elbo Room or something. Not the true palaces of dive, where wasted people are waiting for cabs at six in the morning, and the charismatic Irish and Latino bartenders profess their love for you if they've seen you more than twice. Places where hookers, cab drivers and skate punks get the red carpet treatment. If you're not ready to drink at 6:00am, you should probably not be a regular here.
