Good luck finding a short line! Glorified (Lettuce tomato, mayo, but I held the mayo) bacon cheeseburger (not too huge, which is good!) and homemade batter-fried onion rings...yum!

I went to the Mezzanine for the first time this past week to see Kool Keith, Mike Relm, and The Crown City Rockers. The show was super DOPE. All the acts were great and the sound system at the Mezzanine is really good, too. It is a a really super nice space, high ceilings, really open, lots of shiny metal and wood and upstairs there is a lot of comfy seating. They had enormous beer bottles for $8, which I thought was a good price. The bathrooms were very nice and clean as well and wait....get this....in the ladies' bathroom at a totally packed club there was NO LINE. Yes, you heard me. NO LINE. Maybe because for once a club was smart enough to build a bathroom with an ample number of stalls. We drove here and found parking on Mission immediately. None of the crackheads wandering around bothered us or our car. Jessie Street stinks of pee pee and is actually a mini-skid row, but they were friendly and amicable crackheads. I was bummed that the show started so late because by the time the amazing and legendary Kool Keith came on, the crowd had started to slip away, which is really a sin considering he is a legend and he sounded amazing and the sound system was fabulous. I guess a show finishing at 1:45 am on a work night can put people off---if it had been an act of a lesser caliber, I would have left, too, I get up for work at 6 am! Maybe I am just too damn old to ever leave my apartment or something. It also said the show started at 9 but didn't start til after 10, which actually worked out well because we didn't get to roll in until almost 10. I would also hope that one day in the future they might install some large ceiling fans, or A/C. or a dehumidifier. It got to feeling really tropical and wet inside, which sort of grossed me out a bit.

I see there is a page for Cosmo and a page for Lava, but my review applies to both. Cosmo-Lava is what I thought it was called. Anyway, went with a few friends on a Saturday night after trying the Twisted Taco. I liked Cosmo-Lava much better. The drinks were cheap. I remember cashing out before I left and saying, "Is that all?" There was lots of beautiful young women, although I brought my own. We did some dancing, even though I'm terrible and I hate it. Then we grabbed a table on the patio and chilled out for awhile. I won't be going very often because I'm old and I can't dance, but it's a pretty cool place.
